Judges should be elected
Robbery suspects get bail — I would like to know how that judge could possibly release people out of jail when they were caught in a stolen SUV, then out past their curfew and found beating a guy and with a claw hammer and knife in their pockets? I bet if it was the judge’s son they would not have gotten out of jail. Maybe we need to start electing our judges.
Can people be a little more considerate?
We just returned from the Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium where we were watching our granddaughter dance. But Grandpa had to leave because the lady in front had such strong perfume on it just choked him right up. I don’t know why people in such a large public place would do something so awful. I guess they just think of themselves and nobody else. I don’t usually complain. We love Brandon and all the activities, but this was just ridiculous.
Let’s get some young, bright people in the mix for mayor
I agree that we need to have more people running for mayor. Mrs. Hirst and Mr. Chrest — well that just sounds like a replay of the past. There has to be some bright young people in this city who have bright, young energetic ideas that are fun and young and happy and colourful instead of this grey, bleak place that we have been living in. I just believe there are some great young people out there living in Brandon. You should put something in the paper calling for the bright, young people to the table and open up the position for mayor — open it up wide. There are a lot of people out there who are bright and brilliant, and they could probably do a better job. I think there has to be someone out there who has the magic to make this city happy and fun!
About the new ‘not-so-smart’ cards?
Why wouldn’t Brandon Transit put a PIN number with the new smart cards? That way no one can reload your card without giving your PIN number. People are just using your card for free and we have to pay for another one each time when we lose it. This way they will hand it in and we will get it back, and they will have to buy their own and not us.
Some investigation needed
So I read in the paper that, not one, not two, but three Brandon Police Service vehicles were involved in a crash at Sixth Street and McTavish Avenue while responding to an alarm call. How did they manage that? Were they all following one another too close? I think we need a drivers review here!
