Not so free to believe
If we are free to believe what we wish, then why is the Bible and the prayer taken out of the schools? When I was raised, the prayer was in the schools and that meant a lot. As Christians we would like to have some of our faith in the schools, too, not just the other. We can’t have Santa Claus, oh no … we can’t have a play because we are not Muslim. This is getting ridiculous. I mean, you say it is supposed to be one state thing … no, no! Our faith is going down and we are driven to believe in other faiths and I will not! I am a Christian and I will stay a Christian.
Teaching your kids starts at home
Regarding the Sound Off, “Parents Need To Do A Better Job.” I agree with that. I feel sorry for the teachers but I also feel sorry for the kids because it starts at home. Parents need to learn how to be parents instead of just sitting around letting their kids do whatever they want to do — then their kids start ordering them around. They need to come up to the plate and learn to be parents, then the kids will learn to have respect for people they need to have respect for. Kids have no respect for adults at this time. No respect at all. And then these parents sit and wonder why their kids are in trouble when they get older.
Look what happens when we all band together
Thank you to the Brandon Sun for the initial April 30 story of the missing poodle and the good news follow-up story on the front page of Wednesday’s paper. The taxi driver who helped reunite this family deserves special recognition for going above and beyond, as do the citizens of Westman for doing their part in the search. Let’s continue to band together to reunite other lost pets with their owners.
