Not just seniors
I don’t think that is it just seniors over the age of 65 who need to have their driver’s licence tested every year. I think it should be mandatory for everyone over the age of 18 to be tested every five years because there are a lot of young people in this city who do not know what a signal light is for or how a four-way stop sign works.
Where has democracy gone?
After reading the headline “City Back At The Table For Casino,” it tells me that our mayor and council do not believe in the democratic system. Democratically they have heard the people say no twice but choose to ignore us. Our mayor says they will not take it to the people. Of course they won’t, they already have heard the people say no twice and now like a spoiled child who didn’t get his way they will go ahead and do what they want anyway.
Keep your cat inside
I live on Sifton Avenue and I have a cat who repeatedly does its business in my garden. I am a dog owner and I do not allow my dog to go onto other people’s lawns to do its business. There will be a trap set if this continues. There is a bylaw. Keep your cats in your house.
If you don’t like a casino then just don’t go
So the majority of people voted against a casino. A large group did vote for it and those people should be able to have and enjoy one and benefit the city and First Nations as they do so. There is room in this city for a variety of entertainment choices. Not all of them need to appeal to more than 50 per cent of the population.
Government-owned casino ok with me
Oh, the mayor is stirring up the pot getting all the citizens of Brandon going against each other. If a casino comes to Brandon, fine and dandy, but it should be government-owned, money stays in Brandon, goes toward Brandon, employs Brandon people — OK — then I am all for it!
Stop ignoring us
So you just ignore the citizens who said “no” multiple times until you get what you want? What kind of political system do we have? No, we don’t want a casino! I encourage everyone to send into Sound Off to say no again.
No tolerance for bullying in the workplace
Bullying in the schools and now bullying in the workplace! A workplace bully makes life miserable, not only for the targets but for everyone else, too. Morale goes way down and the workplace becomes a very unpleasant place. It also increases the potential for high employee turnover. Constantly tolerating the behaviour of someone who harasses or bullies employees can be costly for a company. This has got to be stopped.
