Question is not ‘if’ but ‘where’ a casino will be built
Instead of having divisive and destructive conversations about whether or not Brandon should have a casino, the more helpful talk would be where it should be placed in the city when it is to be built here. Downtown would be the obvious choice, with the North Hill a good second idea.
Kudos for a job well done
Congratulations to those young men from the Sagkeeng First Nation who won “Canada’s Got Talent.” Congratulations boys for a job well done and what a contribution to your community. All we ever hear is “woe is us in the north” and all we hear is “what we are due from the residential schools” and “we are so hard done by” and “the water is bad” and “the sky is bad” and “the grass is bad” — hey you guys are good and have served your community proud there in the north and all across Canada.
Witnesses required
It would be very much appreciated if the person(s) who witnessed the accident on May 2, approximately 3:30 p.m. at Sixth Street and McTavish Avenue could call Terri at 571-0948 or David at 727-6674.
Thanks for the memories
I would like to thank the Brandon Public Library for putting on a beautiful Mother’s Day tea this past Saturday. My children had a really good time and the memories that we shared together are something we will keep for a lifetime. They just did an awesome job. Thank you.
How much will we be paying?
Wade Ritchie is happy, the city is happy, Wade got his job back, no one from the city is to be held accountable for firing Wade in the first place (someone’s head should roll), the only ones not happy are the taxpayers. When are the financial details of this debacle going to be released to the public, you know the people who are going to have to pay for all of this mess.
Be a good neighbour
Something needs to be done about rental houses and the landlords that have them. Isn't it the landlord’s responsibility to have the yards maintained and the garbage curbed properly? We have rental homes on both sides of us and the yards are an eyesore, not to mention full of dead branches and derelict sheds, which are attracting rodents that are not welcomed in our well maintained yard. When garbage day comes along, the renters decide to put the bins on our lawn for pickup. We have moved them back to where they are supposed to be, but somehow they keep coming back onto our property.
