Just make it much needed parking lot

Apparently the city hasn’t spent (wasted) enough tax dollars at Ninth Street and Princess Avenue as now they are going to haul in black dirt and seed the vacant lot. It will take a few years before any grass ever takes hold and then there will be additional maintenance needed to mow the grass. Next thing is it will become a gathering area for vagrants tossing garbage around. All that is needed is to level it and turn it into a parking lot for 20 years and develop a playground. No need for grass just use it as a parking lot.

The bin pins

Trying to navigate a rear lane by car or bicycle can be quite a challenge with abandoned (seemingly) black trash carts all over the place. I thought there was a law against leaving them out like that. If there is, enforce it. That’s what we pay taxes for, not worrying about dimes in parking meters.

Trash the attitude

Some people are just the worst neighbours. They leave their big dumb city-issued trash bins anywhere they want in the lanes, forcing vehicles — even some city ones — onto MY LAWN to get around them. Where’s the by-law officers? This was the city’s plan ... all these black bins. Dumb black bins.

Keep it clean

I was out shopping and had to use a public washroom. A woman came in, used the washroom and then left without washing her hands. Well, that is just gross! Please wash your hands after you use the washroom! It is totally irresponsible and should be somehow punishable because your irresponsible behaviour could be contributing to the sickness of so many others. If we want to prevent diseases from spreading then we must each do our part. Washing our hands after we use a public or private washroom is mandatory. I’m so disgusted, grossed out and appalled by such behaviour. Didn’t your mother teach you that this was important? If not, I’m telling you now that it is. Just think how many people you will transfer your germs to throughout the day who will open that door to leave. Gross, gross, gross!

No soccer again this spring?

It is sad to see the Optimist Park flooded again. Those poor soccer people. It is so disappointing that the city will not allow the 2,000 plus users of the facility to build the dike to save the park. Soccer has heard all the excuses. They are scared of the CP yard flooding out. Well, if you drive by there are six feet or so from flooding — not the poor park.
