House sits empty
There is all this talk about the need for affordable housing in this city and what is going to happen to the Massey Building. But what about the house on the east end of Rosser Avenue that was built by the government. Why is it still empty? Who decides who gets to live there? How do they decide and when will this happen?
Need an area please
Wondering if it would be possible for landlords when putting their ads in the paper for rent of apartments, rooms etc., to please put area location such as north, south, east or west as some students/people have to phone (many times long distance) to try to find an area close to work or study, as they only have a bicycle or are on foot.
Regarding the Relay for Life
I used to volunteer for the relay at the Discovery Centre. What a wonderful event. I looked forward to it every year with so many kind survivors and volunteers. People came down just to watch the opening events and support this wonderful cause. I did go to this year’s event and wondered where all the people were. Along with many others, we missed a huge silent auction and all the other activities that used to be there. And of course, there weren’t enough yellow T-shirts.
Proud of our police
I’m proud of our Canadian police forces. An American muffler TV commercial about chases in snow in winter makes them look like fools! I would never do that to them!
Looking good
Hey Brandon Sun, good work with keeping as many photogs as you can. Bruce Bumstead’s quest is fantastic and another reason to buy your paper. Thanks.
More time with our kids
I laughed about the Sound Off that was written in regards to dropping off kids at the door at lunch! Gee! Nowadays with most of us mothers working, it is a chance to see our kids another half-hour a day. Also we had no lunch program at the school so what else was there to do? Open your eyes out there!
Assuming it is possible
Regarding the Sound Off from Oct. 26 Brandon Sun ”Learn the Difference,” regarding new Winnipeg police Chief Devon Clunis. The attempt to separate religion and politics is based on the assumption that it is possible.
