Why sell such good equipment?

Reading the paper I noticed that the city is selling some well-maintained, lower-than-average mileage vehicles and equipment. I am questioning when our taxes are going up so much, why they are discontinuing to use them if they are so darn good.

Being rude isn’t a mistake

Regarding Stephen Montagues conflict with the mayor. He keeps saying it was a mistake that he made -- it is not a mistake, it is being rude. He was being rude to our mayor. He should not call it a mistake. Being rude is totally that and therefore the mayor should not apologize to him, he needs to apologize to her for being rude. He should not be bellyaching to anyone.

Put the blame where it belongs

What a mess our city high schools are in. The students and parents are running the show and teachers are being blamed for it. Wake up Brandon. Decisions are made by the administration, principals and superintendents. Blame them for this problem!

Misguided support

It is amazing and disappointing to see that our Harper government doesn’t have $3 million to support our major and most important resource, being water, through the experimental lakes project, but yet has multi-millions to continue to spend on advertising supporting the wealthy oil industry. What is more amazing is that Canadians and Manitobans continue to support this Harper government.

Another great play by Neelin

I had the pleasure of attending the Neelin’s play last Saturday afternoon. Their play was called “13” and it was simply amazing — the voices, the dancing, the acting — everything was simply amazing. Way to go Neelin! You did a wonderful job putting on another play. Very, very good!

Thanks for the great care

I would like to thank the nurses on the second floor for the great care that I had when I was in for knee surgery and also for Dr. Samuels who did it. Keep up the good work, girls. Thank you!

What is the big deal?

Why on earth is there such a kerfluffle about students having to transfer to a different school? I was transfered when I was a child, big deal! You go where they send you. Now everyone wants to get their way no matter how much it will cost the taxpayer!
