Well said
With regard to the Our View column in the Nov. 15 edition of the Brandon Sun, referring to the Nov. 11 services in the schools. We could not have said it better! Something is dreadfully wrong when a premier would think this way and we thank you for your excellent column.
Things I don’t like
As the Christmas season approachs, I see we are once again going to be bombarded by the silly, annoying cartoon art all over business windows. Year, after year, after year. Please, Brandon, let’s be a little more original. Take a look at the windows at the coffee shop in the Corral Centre … elegant, simple and a lot more appealing. And while I’m at it … enough about casinos!
Thanks for the great care
I would like to send off a really big thank you to all of the doctors, nurses and nurses aides on the 300 surgical ward at the Brandon general hospital. During my stay in the hospital, they provided me with exceptional care and showed true professionalism and dedication to their jobs. Thank you all!
You made my day
Thank you to the person who found my purse in a shopping cart at the Walmart parking lot and returned it to the store. I was devastated when I found I had inadvertently left it in the cart. I was on my way to Winnipeg for a meeting. Once again thank you to whoever you might be. You really are a wonderful person.
Where is the money coming from for this busing?
Didn’t the Brandon school board study the census data about French being a minority? So why are they always giving French students special privileges and special treatment at the expense of the English majority? First, they disrupt the lives and school spirit at George Fitton and Green Acres to accommodate French at Harrison. Now they are busing English students to Earl Oxford. Do the English students have a choice and who is paying for all this busing? Will any extra busing costs mean less money for other programs? English students aren’t asking for extra and special treatment just equal treatment for our tax dollars.
Better take a better look at your employees
I have been retired for a few years now but would like to say something about the workplace. You have your go-getters, the lazy, the stuck-up, the squealers and so on … but a person needs to make money to live and to that business owner I had coffee with, you need to take a real look at the people you hire.
Thanks for clearing the way
I would just like to thank my neighbour who took the time to take their snow blower and do the sidewalks on both sides of the 800-block of Frederick Street. I don’t even know which neighbour it was, but it was greatly appreciated by this neighbour and I would be more than willing to chip in for the price of gas if I knew who it was.
