Get with the flow
When is the city or province going to update traffic lights? The turning arrows at 18th Street and Richmond Avenue especially need fixing. They give you enough time for maybe three cars only. There should be sensors detecting if there are a lot of cars there or none. Get with the times so traffic can flow more smoothly, please!
‘Shrek’ a great show for the whole family
Congrats Mecca Productions on “Shrek The Musical.” Great family show! Fantastic performances, costumes, and the dragon rocked! We were very impressed with the sound! All those characters and vocal performances sounded like the movie! Laughed all night with the kids. To all involved, a job well done!
A great weekend of volleyball
Thanks to the coaches and athletes for providing a great weekend of volleyball at the Grade 7/8 volleyball tournament. Special thanks to the coaches who gave up time on their weekend to coach their teams and to all the other time devoted to their teams during games and practices. It’s nice to see our kids really keen about going to games and practices. Thanks coaches.
Thanks to all those who supported the Pink the Rink event
A big bouquet to the governor, general manager, head coach Kelly McCrimmon and the Brandon Wheat Kings players, staff, fans and businesses who helped to raise a nice sum of money for the Canadian Cancer Society on the weekend and good luck to the Wheat Kings on their road trip.
I am offended by breast cancer ... not a t-shirt
To the person who wrote that the “Pink The Rink” logo on the Brandon Wheat Kings T-shirts is offensive to women — really? It’s the outline of a bra, and there’s nothing offensive about it. There is so much that is truly offensive to women in this world — like breast cancer — that I say thanks to the Wheat Kings for trying to make a difference. If some people spent less of their energy being “offended” and more time doing something useful, the world would be a much better place.
