Learn the difference

I find it interesting that intelligent people in the media cannot comprehend the separation of church and state. It means that individual church organizations should not influence government policy. It does not mean the separation of God and state, you were incorrect when you criticized the incoming police chief in Winnipeg.

Looking for a lawyer with feelings

There must be some kind of contract between Habitat for Humanity and the families that put in 500 hours or more of volunteer work on the residence. I realize these people do not have the money on hand to hire a lawyer, but I would say they have a very good lawsuit against Habitat. They cannot just cancel their contract. Surely there is a good lawyer in Brandon, that is fortunate to be living the good life, that would take on a class-action lawsuit against Habitat for these people, pro bono. They either get their condo on the agreed-to terms or get paid for the 500 hours of work they put in to building these condos. To say they will be first on the list for future Habitat housing is ridiculous. Everyone with a brain knows nothing from Habitat will come out of Winnipeg to Brandon. There must be a lawyer with feelings in Brandon!

Go play in your own backyard

OK, I am sick and tired of small dog owners complaining about the big dogs in the dog parks. I have two big dogs that have a blast with the other dogs in the park. I think the bigger dogs need the space a lot more than the little fluffy ones in sweaters that would get the same amount of exercise in their backyard. As the old saying goes, “If you can't hang with the big dogs, get off the porch.”

Thanks for the coffee

I would like to thank a young trucker who bought my husband and I a coffee up at Humpty’s. He paid for our coffee and a snack. And I just wanted to thank him. He is a gentleman and a scholar.

Cheating the system

I have no issue with the co-operative housing in the city, however, when I drive by and see a car that is better than mine — I am talking a $80,000-$90,000 car parked in there — I have an issue with that. Is there some way to verify employment and cross reference with what kind of vehicle people are able to afford? I think that is cheating the system and not fair.

Where is the justice?

I read the story in the paper of the impaired driver who got four years for killing a girl. In addition she helped cause the crash by directing her attention to a cellphone. She should get a penalty for driving and using the phone as well as four years for killing a girl. That is absolutely shameful. There is no justice.

Would rather be back at the Discovery Centre

I just heard the Relay for Life is going to be back at the Keystone grounds next year and that is just ludicrous. Last year was such a disappointment for everyone. All the years that the relay was at the Discovery Centre met with huge success — what a wonderful facility for everyone to come together and support the cancer cause. Let’s get back to the Discovery Centre.
