Didn’t need to read that
I can’t even find the words to express how disgusted I was to see the top headline in the Oct. 2 edition of the Brandon Sun, partly because I was so sickened by the little bit of the story I read and partly because I was so disappointed that the Brandon Sun found it newsworthy, let alone put it on the front page.
Out of view of children
I am very shocked about the front page story in Tuesday’s paper about the bestiality. We have children reading the newspapers now and taking them to school, and it is part of their curriculum. Can you not put something like that further into the paper where by the time they get bored they will not find it?
No cover up here
I saw the front page of Tuesday’s paper and I am not surprised about what took place. I am surprised it made the paper though. Usually they try and cover that kind of stuff up.
Talk about pollution
For the past three or four days I have observed a thick, heavy, black smoke coming from the vicinity of the airport. I have heard this is from a training program. However, are these people exempt from the air pollution restrictions or will they tell us this smoke does, in fact, not pollute the air? After all, pollution is pollution!
Blatant disregard for humanity
This is in regards to the Sept. 29 article on Mr. Henry Lawrence. After reading the “hell” that this poor man has gone through with WCB and Brandon University, I sincerely hope that Mr. Lawrence finally gets the humanity that has taken 24 years to receive. This is shameful to disregard anyone who has suffered as Mr. Lawrence has. My only hope is that he now receives back pay for the 24 years he has suffered.
Butt it out!
I cannot believe drivers have the nerve to throw burning cigarettes out the windows of their vehicles. With such dry conditions you could easily cause a disastrous fire. You are also littering and you should be fined.
Will it be another hidden tax?
I am reading the paper where the council is going to vote to phase out city garbage collection in complexes. I think there is a limit to the number of people living in that complex but nevertheless, if they phase it out the city may pay half for the first five years of the collection. But what happens after the first five years? Is it another hidden tax for people living in these complexes? I think the city should think about that and if they are going to phase it out there should be some kind of tax relief for the people who living in these places.
Unaware of your distress
In response to “Restaurant Etiquette.” As a person who suffers from severe allergies, I have a sneezing and nose-blowing problem. I was not aware that this caused others so much distress and I also wasn’t aware that it had anything to do with class.
Parking lot pain
To the person who decided to scrape my vehicle in the parking lot of Stokes Hearing and Audiology: Thanks for leaving a swatch of red paint on my white vehicle with a scratch right to the metal above it! So appreciate it!
Special rights denied
When my ancestors came to this country 125 years ago, they settled in the Gimli area. When they needed meat, they hunted and fished the same as First Nations people. I can understand the fact that the Métis people are proud of their heritage, but the right to sustenance hunt when you make a six-figure salary and getting this special right because a great grandmother is part native doesn’t sit well with many. Should I have the right to hunt and fish anytime because my ancestors did? I think not!
Trudeau No. 2 doomed to fail as leader
Well, Justin Trudeau is running for the Liberal party leadership. It’s too bad, as he is still too young to be a leader. He still breaks into tantrums when he’s the only one who thinks he’s right and keeps swearing. He’s like the second “Bush” — a failure. The Liberals need better if they’re going to survive.
Nitwit nincompoops
It’s not hard to realize, that the person who submitted, “Blatant Hate Propaganda”, was either a “nitwit gang member” or supports their idiotic actions. When they are sentenced to the pen for 10 years or so they are complete “nincompoops” to follow the “outlaw gang mentality.”
