What’s the point of bylaws?

Did the city change the garbage/recycle bin bylaw and not tell anyone? Oh wait, they didn’t … the bylaw enforcement unit is just too lazy to enforce it (and several other bylaws it seems). This is the reason our taxes go up.

Don’t blame the teachers

I want to address the blame that teachers get for students learning less. I agree students are learning less. This is 100 per cent the government’s fault and responsibility. Curricula have indeed been watered down to the point that it makes our job even more difficult. Rules are put in place to get students through the system so the government can brag about phoney grad rates. There is zero discipline. As teachers, we hate this. So when you want to blame teachers for math marks falling, consider the government and school division for forcing a ridiculous system and unproven fads on the people they trust to teach it.

Shout out to Brandon Community Builders

I would like to give a big thank you to a local organization called BCB — Brandon Community Builders — they have been donating a lot of time and energy renovating a room for my disabled husband and I think they deserve a big thank you.
