Thanks for the ride
I read the article in the Sept. 16 paper regarding Sunday bus service. We took the bus to Walmart on Sunday and were very happy to see just how full the bus was! From the Victoria Avenue bus we took to get downtown to the rec centre bus we took to get to Corral Centre. On the way home, the rec centre bus was full. As we were getting off the bus, the driver made the comment to my husband that he has been so busy he hasn’t had time for a break. With this kind of ridership on Sunday, city council would be crazy if they didn’t keep it. We have been regular passengers since we moved here in 2002.
Glad to attend Veterans’ Memorial service
What a beautiful Veterans’ Memorial and service that took place this past weekend. And a perfect day. Having joined the RCAF in Brandon, way back when, I was so glad that I was able, and still around to attend. My grateful thanks to all.
My Hutterite upbringing was great
About those “Nine,” I agree that their happiness seems forced! I’ve been on a Hutterite colony all my life and I like the way they’ve structured my life and taught me how to be a resourceful hard worker, independent (while also being taught to share), and love! Also, there’s a lot of rich humour and togetherness. Sure there are some cloudy times, but where in the world are we free from that?
Defeats the purpose
The Minnedosa ethanol plant is one of the worst greenhouse gas producers. Kind of defeats the use of ethanol, eh?
Keep those kitties indoors
To the person whose cat was covered in oil and tar, I just want to say that this type of thing would not happen if you (as Brandon’s bylaw states) kept your cat indoors. No animal should be subject to this kind of treatment and you, as a cat owner, do it a disservice by allowing it to run loose and be exposed to this sort of thing. Your cat is your responsibility, just like your children. If your child got hurt breaking the law, I am sure you would do something about it. Please do the same for your law-breaking cat and do something about it!
