Was it necessary to show us a cow that was shot? I am sure there was a good picture waiting that might have put a smile on our faces. We see enough slaughter!

Just a clarification of the clarification

Pesticides is the term use to describe herbicides, insecticides and fungicides. Herbicides control weeds, insecticides control insects, and fungicides control disease. (There are also miticides and nematicides but we won’t go there). All pesticides are tested extensively before being registered for their intended use by the Pest Management Regulatory Agency of Health Canada. The testing ensures the products are safe not only to humans but to our environment as well. A product on average will have 10 years of research and testing before receiving approval from Health Canada.

Not so wide open spaces

I sympathize with the people in Brookwood. I would not want that kind of cutback on yardage or frontage and such. When you look at the houses downtown and how close they are and some that are right on the street and in the southwest area where they have built those condos and they don’t even have room to turn around ... well, that is just asinine when we have got lots of land. It is just ridiculous to do that.

Need tougher drunk driving laws

Sadly another person, the mother of youngsters, is killed and a person injured by an alleged impaired driver, who also is released from custody in little time. Persons responsible for these offences should be charged with murder. Impaired driving is still common and legal technicalities are tying the hands of police in these investigations. This should be addressed by authorities and innocent citizens properly protected. The courts and lawyers do not help this problem either.

Better use for police building site

The sale of the former Brandon Police Service site should be made to a private developer for the largest return to the city. There are many other sites within the Brandon Neighbourhood Renewal area that the Canadian Mental Health Association or the Westman Seniors Non-Profit Housing Co-operative could use for their developments without additional costs to the city.

Faith debate

Regarding the Sound Off “Have A Little Faith.” Faith without reason is just ignorance; which is the whole point about Adam and Eve and belly buttons, though it should be noted an artistic depiction reflects only the painter's own imagination and “faith,” not any kind of reality.
