Anyone know what type of new sealcoat the city is trying? Looks different than the oil/rocks they used to have.
Another drain on taxpayers
So the city wants to declare the former First Baptist church a heritage site. According to the article, no one is interested in buying the building and having any kind of business there. Is this building to be a drain on taxpayers for ever, like what could possibly happen with the former fire hall? With the possibility of the fire hall being sold for one measly buck, where does that leave the citizens of Brandon?
Lots of parking available at BU
I live beside three Brandon University parking lots. I am very upset by the story in the paper because the lot beside me has only had nine cars, and in the last two days only five. The one across the street has had no cars either day and the one down the street is not full either.

Thank goodness we have people like Trent Gill, Jerry Storie and Andy Schroeder who are able to retort with true intelligence to the ridiculous comments of unthinking religious fundamentalists. Bravo, gentlemen.
Let us give thanks!
All the “know-it-alls” regarding religion, evolution and creation, I really feel sorry for you for there is a whole realm of revelation of living that you seem to know nothing about. Stop making yourself look silly — someday, somewhere you may come to your senses! I hope you will let us all know on Sound Off when you do! Christianity, the Bible and even Jesus has been mocked many times before — so keep right on if it makes you feel good, it is your choice! But a little history tells me that many of the first places of caring in the world, hospitals, places of higher learning and schools had their beginnings through Christianity and it is still happening today in some countries. Canada and other countries in the world are better places, and many want to come here to live, because the care and dignity of every human being is stressed! Jesus came for all people that they may have life and have it more abundantly.
It’s a guilt trip
In a discussion involving creation versus evolution it’s important to remember that “you can’t reason someone out of something they haven’t been reasoned into.” Religion is usually a core indoctrination of a child long before he/she has the ability to question the irrationality of an invisible sky-god judging their every move. It is then kept in place by the carrot and stick approach with the rewards of heaven and the terrors of hell. All religions are the same, basically guilt with different holidays.

People use religion as an excuse to discredit the Bible. Couple of interesting facts about the Bible that people aren't aware of. Firstly, the Bible wasn't written in English. King James had it translated in 1611, hence the King James version. This translation is a literal word for word translation which leaves it open to interpretation which in turn makes for hundreds of religions worldwide. If anyone reading this is interested in the truth, I humbly suggest picking up a copy of the Strong's Concordance. If anyone really wanted to read the Bible as it was intended, they can take the scriptures and put them back in their original languages. The concordance is also a Hebrew and Greek dictionary to assist in this work. Secondly, as much as one race would like to claim the Bible for their own greedy purposes, the truth is the Old Testament is a history of the Jewish people and that it was to be used as an example for all races. I leave you with a scripture: "...a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands...saying Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the lamb...and God shall wipe all tears from their eyes."
