Keep it clean
I was really happy to see that the newly formed RHA will be saving $10 million over the next three years. Now maybe they can use some of that money for better ‘housekeeping’ at Brandon Regional Hospital. I remember a much cleaner hospital and cutting back on cleaning is not an option in health care! Cut back on the meetings and management … not cleaning!
Learn from past example
I am writing in regards to Conservative MP Bob Sopuck’s goal to cut winter services in Parks Canada. Of course there are exceptions, but for the most part, government members (MPs, MLAs) never take past examples seriously. They will often continue to make the same floundering steps of failure to justify that they have accomplished something.
Why build new until we fix the old?
This is in reply to the Sound Off “Make Better Use Of What We Have.” The Arabian horse show was great and the millions it brought to town is all spinoff money, not necessarily money that goes to the Keystone Centre. And I do believe that we need to build new barns, but let’s fix the roofs of the buildings we have first. Some of these roofs are from 1967 and still leaking.
Can’t have them all running amuck
To the grandparents who complained that children were too regimental while taking swimming lessons at the Sportsplex pool. You would be the same people complaining if shoving and pushing resulted in a child being injured from a fall. This is a no-brainer. Thanks, Sportsplex staff, for caring about our kids.
Could have used what we had
Well, the front page on Aug. 29 says that the Brandon School Division is pushing for a new school when we had an old school that was in place and either could have been torn down and the land used or it could have been refurbished and reused. Why are they not using the resources we have at hand?
Home deliveries please
Maple Leaf will need to do more to ensure that each of their employees who take the transit after 11 p.m. make it home safely to their doors and not four blocks from their homes.
Why the difference?
I am from Virden and I was just in Brandon today and I couldn’t help but notice the price of your gas is $1.20.9. Out here in Virden, our lowest price is $1.25.9 and the highest is $1.27.9. I don’t see why Virden should be so high compared to Brandon.
