Great story on Henry Champ

Great story by James Shewaga on Henry Champ and Ilarion Bonhomme. University is about changing and impacting one’s life. Go Bobcats!

And that’s how it works

In response to “Is Brandon Democratically Run?” In an election year the citizens of Brandon vote on their choice for mayor and councillors. The majority vote-getters assume their seats on city council to make the decisions and run the city on behalf of the citizens. They are the ones who make the decisions because the citizens voted to give them the power to make the decisions. The only reason the vote on any issue would go back to the citizens is if the mayor and council didn’t have the guts to do the job they were elected to do. If the citizens did not agree with this council, they are free to vote for someone else next time or even run for office themselves.

Such excellent care

Nowhere but in Manitoba would we receive the excellent medical care provided by Neepawa Med, Neepawa Cancer Care and Dr. Bashir and staff at Westman Cancer Care in Brandon. Their efficency, caring and timely service has been exemplary to say the least and greatly appreciated.

Good road work

Travelling to Brandon and Winnipeg we sincerely appreciated the results of the summer’s hard work by Province of Manitoba, Nelson River Construction and other parties involved on Highway 10 and Highway 16. Job exceptionally well done.

Keep left!

Drivers of Brandon, the rules have not changed — if you are turning left, then you must keep to the left curb lane, this includes boulevards and major intersections. All of you coffee lovers turning left off of Victoria Avenue into Tims, this means you too! I know it’s shocking, isn’t it ... there are actually rules you need to follow when driving!

It is my business to know where my tax dollars are going

When it comes to this “Freedom of Information” policy, I really don’t give a damn. As a taxpayer in the city of Brandon, it is mine and every taxpayer’s right to know how, where, why and to whom my tax dollars are paid to, for what service or reason, how much money is involved and why that company.

Those rascally rabbits

What’s with all the rabbits in Brandon? Our garden was ruined by them this year! Driving here is also a challenge, if you’re not swerving for potholes, you’re avoiding hitting rabbits!
