Once again, we are pleased to note that the City of Brandon will offer New Year’s Eve revellers free bus rides so they can safely get out and celebrate.
As the Sun recently reported, from 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve until 3 a.m. on New Year’s Day, Brandon Transit will run its buses on a regular modified hourly service. During those hours, it will be free for all to get on or off the bus at any of the participating routes’ designated stops.
It’s the second year in a row the city has offered this service — something we at the Sun had urged for years. We’re glad to see the city keep the program going in partnership with Manitoba Public Insurance.
Anyone heading out on New Year’s Eve should check brandontransit.ca to check the service routes that night.
