BANGKOK - Scott Strange took a one-stroke lead at the Thailand Open after a 7-under 65 Friday in the second round, which was suspended by darkness.

Strange had eight brides and one bogey at Thana City Golf & Sports Club for a 131 total. He leads Azuma Yano, Terry Pilkadaris and Lucas Lee by a shot.

Heavy rain delayed play for more than 2 hours, forcing many players to abandon their rounds until Saturday.

Three-time major champion Padraig Harrington (66) had a bogey-free round and sits two strokes behind Strange, tied with defending champion Chris Wood (66).

Overnight leader Koumei Oda (73) dropped outside the top 30 at 137 overall, and 2014 Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley was forced to retire because of a back injury.
