The Assiniboine Community College Cougars women’s volleyball team made it to the Western Canadian College Championship quarter-finals at Olds, Alta., over the weekend, but couldn’t get any further.
The Cougars fell to the Bethany College Eagles, who are from Hepburn, Sask., 2-0 (25-22, 25-18) in the quarter-finals. ACC got that far by going 1-2 in its round-robin.
Meanwhile, the men’s volleyball team posted a 2-2 record at the tournament. Their run at a title was ended by the Prairie Bible Institute Pilots, who beat the Cougars 2-0 (25-17, 25-20). Zac Czarnecki led ACC with six kills and two blocks.
