Anderson wins, hits home run

Brandon Anderson gave up seven runs in six innings of work and hit a solo home run to help his cause as the Joe Beeverz Young Guns edged the Cubs 8-7 in Brandon Senior AA Baseball League play on Sunday at Brandon Field.

Anderson scattered 11 hits and struck out three to earn the win on the mound. He went 2-for-4 at the plate and drove in two runs, while Mike Tosh was 3-for-5 with two RBIs.

Kent Wheaton took the loss for the Cubs after surrendering eight runs and 14 hits in five innings.

Curtis Campbell led the Cubs offensively with his 2-for-4 performance with one run.
