Bachewich scores pair as Chancellors top Huskies

Tyson Bachewich scored a pair of goals to pace the Minnedosa Chancellors to a 5-3 Westman High School Hockey League victory over the host Hamiota Huskies Sunday afternoon.

Bryce Stephenson added one goal and two assists for Minnedosa. Jonathon Shurvell had one goal and two helpers for Hamiota.

Elsewhere on Sunday, it was: Virden Golden Bears 5, Souris/Reston Sabres 1; and Melita/Waskada Devils 2, Killarney/Wawanesa Raiders 1.

On Saturday, it was Glenboro/Carberry/Baldur Wildcats 6, Sabres 0; and Broncos 5, Raiders 4 in a shootout.

On Friday night, the Virden Golden Bears beat the Melita/Waskada Devils 2-1.

Devils 2 Raiders 1

At Melita, Carter McKinney and James Turnbull scored for the Devils. Graeme Hore managed the Raiders’ lone tally.

Golden Bears 5 Sabres 1

At Virden, Brady Chyzyk and Cody Colon both netted a pair of goals for Virden, with Austin Brereton scoring the other. Matt Williams replied for the Sabres.

Wildcats 6 Sabres 0

At Glenboro, Jordan Robertson and Mayson Lockhart both scored one goal and set up two more for the Wildcats. Joel Baron made 22 saves to record the shutout for the host squad.

Broncos 5 Raiders 4 (SO)

At Boissevain, Skylar Canada scored twice in regulation and set up two others for the host Broncos. Chase Austin had three assists for Boissevain. Hore replied with two goals for the Raiders.

Golden Bears 2 Devils 1

At Virden, Brady Chyzyk and Carrigan George scored for the Golden Bears. Reid Sambrook replied for the Devils.
