Barbarians women's squad still undefeated

The Brandon Barbarians kept their perfect season alive on Monday night in Portage la Prairie.

The Barbarians beat the Sturgeon Creek Rowdies 39-14 to improve to 2-0 in the second half of the season in Rugby Manitoba Division 1 women’s action and 9-0 overall, including round-robin action.

Dory Holt scored three tries, Steph Dornn added two tries and booted two converts, while Kayla Bauche and Kiya Townsend added a try apiece for Brandon.

The Barbarians return to action on Saturday when they face the defending provincial champion Winnipeg Saracens (2-0) at John Reilly Field at 2 p.m. The Barbarians Division 2 men’s team (4-2-1) kicks off action at noon Saturday against the University of Manitoba Wombats (8-1-0). Then, in Division 1 men’s play, Brandon (4-1) faces the Wombats (2-2) at John Reilly Field at 4 p.m.
