Brandon’s Lisa Barclay and Roblin’s Kristi Hunter have been selected for Canada’s national women’s volleyball A and B teams for this summer.

Barclay, a second-year member of the UBC Thunderbirds, and Hunter, a fifth-year player from the Manitoba Bisons, were among 34 players who made the cut from the 49 who took part in the camp, including Brandon’s Kellie Baker. Barclay and Hunter were both members of Canada’s 2011 World University Games team in China and the Pan American Games squad in Mexico.

The remaining players will train together for a month before the A team is finalized in late June. That team will face Argentina in exhibition games in Winnipeg from July 7-10 and will head to the Pan Am Cup in Mexico on July 11.
