Kayla Bauche scored four tries to help the Brandon Barbarians women’s team finish the Rugby Manitoba pre-season round-robin schedule with a first-place 7-0 record on Monday night.
Dory Holt and Essie Kruger added two tries apiece, while Breanne Morgan booted five converts as the Barbarians blasted the Winnipeg Saracens 62-24 in Portage la Prairie. Steph Dornn added a pair of converts while Victoria Gilby scored the other try for the Barbarians, who earned a spot in the first division.
Jeff Peel went 2-for-3 with an inside-the-park home run to lead the Canadian Tire Cardinals to a 7-4 victory over the Joe Beeverz Young Guns in Andrew Agencies Senior AA Baseball League action on Monday night at Brandon Field.

The Reston Jays earned a spot in the South West Baseball League playoffs on Monday night.
The Jays blanked the Melita Beavers 11-0 last night in the sudden-death elimination game, to earn a berth in the best-of-three quarter-finals against the Hamiota Red Sox. That series begins tonight in Reston at 7 o’clock.
Meanwhile, the visiting Hartney Hoppers defeated the Deloraine Royals 9-2 last night to open their best-of-three series.
