Brandon Sun - PRINT EDITION

Bears run down Outlaws

Carrigan George rushed for 122 yards and scored three touchdowns as the host Virden Golden Bears rolled to a 48-12 victory over the Parkwest Outlaws Thursday in the Rural Manitoba Football League.

Mac Troughton added 89 yards on the ground and two touchdowns for the Golden Bears (2-5), while quarterback Logan Roach completed eight of 10 passes for 46 yards.

Nick Martens had seven tackles, seven assists and an interception for Virden, which got three tackles and six assists from Alex Bajus.

The Outlaws fell to 1-6 on the season.

In other nine-man high school league games, it was: Dauphin Clippers 32, Neepawa Tigers 10; and Southwest Sabres 34, Moosomin Generals 8.

Dauphin 32 Neepawa 10

At Neepawa, Chace MacDonald caught a pair of touchdown passes from Clippers quarterback Matt Kish to lead Dauphin (6-1) to victory.

Kish finished 12-for-28 for 202 yards and three touchdowns.

Brant Bosiak caught Kish’s other touchdown pass, while Jacob Thacker rushed for 140 yards.

Tiger Haire led Dauphin with nine tackles and one sack. Brett Moisiner added seven tackles and a fumble recovery.

Connor Paterson completed six of 22 passes for 204 yards for the Tigers (2-5).

Four of those completions went to Brenden Cowan, who picked up 150 yards.

Layton Dixon had six tackles and a fumble recovery for Neepawa.

Southwest 34 Moosomin 8

At Moosomin, Conrad May rushed for a 17-yard touchdown and scored on a 60-yard return to keep the Sabres (7-0) undefeated on the season.

Nathan Doull picked up 89 of the team’s 229 yards on the ground, while Zach Miner completed two of four passes for 55 yards.

Colin Carr added four tackles, returned an interception for a touchdown and recovered an onside kick for the Sabres.

Moosomin fell to 2-5.
