Brandon’s Cassie Hawrysh is in prime position to capture a spot on Canada’s skeleton team for the 2014 Sochi Olympics.
Hawrysh set two personal best push times and won the Canadian selection race in Calgary on Saturday, topping Olympic medallist Mellisa Hollingsworth by .06 seconds.
There is one selection race remaining this Sunday in Whistler, B.C. Hawrysh needs to finish in the top three in combined results from the two selection races to clinch a spot on the Canadian team. She has a .33 second edge on Robynne Thompson, who sits in fourth.
