Adam Blight scored the winning goal as the Central Plains Capitals beat Southwest 3-2 at the Cougars’ Midget AAA pre-season tournament Wednesday in Souris.
Trent Boschman and Tyler Ham of MacGregor also scored for the Capitals. Jordan McCausland and Daylon Creasy replied for the Cougars, who outshot the Caps 44-24.
Meanwhile, Colt Conrad of St. Alphonse had three goals and two assists to lead the Pembina Valley Hawks to an 8-3 win over the Brandon Wheat Kings.
Tanner Kaspick, Tyler Coulter and Duncan Campbell scored for Brandon.
