Bobcat grads in national B team camp

A pair of Brandon University Bobcats graduates will vie for spots on Canada’s national men’s volleyball B team this weekend.

Bobcats middle Jon Sloane of Winchester, Ont., who wrapped up his five-year CIS career in 2011-12, will be joined by former Bobcat left side Kevin Miller of Russell, who graduated a year ago. Miller has already represented Canada at the 2011 Pan Am Games in Mexico last fall and spent 2011-12 training at the national team training centre in Gatineau, Que.

They are among 44 players picked to battle for spots in training camp that begins today and runs through to Tuesday in Gatineau. The final team roster of 12-14 players will represent Canada in the Pan Am Cup from July 7-15 in the Dominican Republic.
