Bobcats remain ranked No.2

Handing the UBC Thunderbirds their first loss of the season wasn’t enough for the Brandon University Bobcats to dislodge the T-Birds from the No.1 ranking in the country.

The Bobcats women’s volleyball team (12-4) stayed put at No.2 in this week’s CIS rankings right behind the Thunderbirds (15-1) after splitting their weekend series in Vancouver.

In men’s volleyball, the Bobcats (7-9) remain ranked seventh in the country, despite being swept on the road by fourth-ranked UBC (11-5) over the weekend.

Both Bobcat teams begin a home-and-home series with the Wesmen tonight in Winnipeg, with the second matches on Friday night at the Healthy Living Centre.

Meanwhile, BU’s men’s basketball team (5-9) and women’s basketball squad (5-9) are unranked. The Bobcats basketball squads also play a home-and-home with the Wesmen this week, beginning Thursday night at BU.
