It was a rough weekend for the Brandon University Bobcats basketball teams as both squads were swept during their road trip to B.C.
The BU men’s team struggled to get their offence going against the host Victoria Vikes (9-5) on Saturday night as they fell 78-52. Brandon was held to eight points in the first quarter and four in the third. Kenonte Ramsey led BU (3-11) with 12 points while Jordan Reaves chipped in with 10.
Late Friday night, Brandon lost 90-75 to the second-ranked UBC Thunderbirds (12-2). Reaves had 18 points for the Bobcats while Michael (Reggie) Smith added 16.
Meanwhile, Aimee Johnston and Jaynell Gillett both scored 12 points as the Bobcats women’s basketball team (0-14) fell 74-49 to the ninth-ranked Victoria Vikes (10-4) Saturday night in Victoria.
Both teams return home to host the Saskatchewan Huskies on Friday and Saturday.
