Bowles' big night leads C-Hawks

Jason Bowles scored three goals and set up four others to lead the Miniota/Elkhorn C-Hawks to a 13-5 thrashing of the Grandview Comets in the North Central Hockey League playoffs on Sunday night in Elkhorn.

With the win, the C-Hawks took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five league final, with Game 4 slated for Saturday in Grandview at 8 p.m.

Jordan Mitchell had two goals and three assists, Curtis Gardham notched one goal and three assists, Devrin Stonehouse had four helpers, while Kelsey McLeod and Nat Howard added a goal and two assists apiece. Kyle McLeod scored twice, while Jamie Sheane, Robin McKean and Bryce Kyle had the other goals for Miniota/Elkhorn.

Zach Mertens replied with a goal and two assists, while Jeff Legaarden, Derrick Pulock, Luke Stokotelny and Joran Hedley also scored goals for Grandview.
