Bowles scores AAA player of the week award

A spectacular seven-point performance has earned Yellowhead Chiefs forward Shawn Bowles the honours as the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League’s Chicken Chef West Division player of the week.

Bowles fired five goals — including the overtime game-winner — and added two assists with a +5 plus/minus rating to lead the Yellowhead Chiefs to an 8-7 victory over the Pembina Valley Hawks to help the Chiefs clinch second place in the West Division on Friday night.

The seven-point night helped Bowles finish in third place in league scoring with 29 goals and 64 points in 44 games.
