The Brandon AAA Midget Wheat Kings will put their 3-0 pre-season record to the test this week in Souris.
The Wheat Kings will be one of 10 teams taking part in the Southwest Cougars annual pre-season tournament that begins this evening at the Souris Glenwood Memorial Complex.
The 14-game tournament opens with the host Cougars facing the Central Plains Capitals at 6 p.m., with the Wheat Kings playing the Pembina Valley Hawks at 8:30 p.m. The Yellowhead Chiefs hit the ice on Thursday when they face Southwest at
6 p.m., with games continuing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Also taking part in the tournament are the Parkland Rangers, NorMan Northstars, Eastman Selects, Interlake Lightning and the Thunder Bay Kings.
