Duncan Campbell scored two goals as the Brandon Wheat Kings extended their winning streak to 11 games with a 4-2 victory over the Southwest Cougars in the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League on Wednesday night.
Tyler Coulter and James Shearer scored the other goals for the Wheat Kings (13-2-0) in a game that was played in Souris. Brandon Switzer and Tanner Kaspick both had two assists for Brandon.
Cameron Whyte replied with a goal and an assist for the Cougars (6-8-2), while Meyer Nell netted the other marker.
Justin Holder made 18 saves for Brandon while Tyson Verhelst stopped 24 shots in the Southwest net.
Now tied with the Winnipeg Thrashers for first overall in the league, the Midget Wheat Kings return to action this weekend with road games on Saturday versus the Eastman Selects and Sunday against the Interlake Lightning.
