Connor Gutenberg, Carson Ransom and Jackson Popple all scored for the winners. Yellowhead goal scorers were unavailable from source.
Meanwhile, in Wawanesa, the Southwest Cougars beat the Central Plains Capitals 3-1 in their season opener. Nick Fletcher, Tyler Kirkup and Brian Harris scored for the Cougars.
