Brandon’s Amanda Thornborough showed why she is an all-Canadian on Thursday in Antigonish, N.S.
Thornborough, a Canadian national team member who led the Atlantic conference in tries this season, scored three to lead the host St. Francis Xavier X-Women to a 53-10 triumph over the Queen’s Gaels on the opening day of the Canadian university women’s rugby championship.
The No.1-ranked X-Women are now a perfect 10-0 on the season. Round-robin action continues today and tomorrow — St. FX will face Concordia on Saturday — with the championship final slated for Sunday.
