Two Brandon players were named Winnipeg High School Football League players of the week on Sunday.
Vincent Massey quarterback Evan Didychuk was named the Kas Vidruk Division’s offensive player of the week after completing 14 of 20 passes for 302 yards and four touchdowns in Massey’s 49-25 loss to the host Grant Park Pirates. Massey fell to 3-1 on the year.
Meanwhile, Crocus Plainsmen linebacker Steven Siebrecht earned Kas Vidruk Division defensive player of the week honours for recording 15 tackles in a 38-35 victory over the West Kildonan Wolverines. That was the Plainsmen’s first victory of the season.
