Brandon's Barclay CWUAA third star of the week

A big weekend by Brandon’s Lisa Barclay has earned her the nod as the Canada West conference’s second star of the week.

Barclay was named the Canada West women’s volleyball MVP on Wednesday and then went out and led her UBC Thunderbirds team to the league title. The 21-year-old left side amassed 27 kills and 10 digs to help UBC beat UBC-Okanagan in four sets in the CWUAA semifinals before adding 13 kills in the T-Birds’ three-set sweep of the Manitoba Bisons in the conference final. Barclay will lead six-time reigning national champion UBC into the CIS championship as the No.1 seed in Regina this weekend.
