Brykaliuk leads Wildcats to sweep

Ashleigh Brykaliuk scored two goals and assisted on another as the Westman Wildcats completed a weekend sweep of the NorMan Wild by beating them 7-1 on Saturday night in Hartney.

Samantha Dyck and Kaitlyn Whaley added a goal and an assist each for the Wildcats, who improved their Manitoba Female Midget Hockey League record to 4-1-1. Amando Coey, Karissa Haney and Teagan Pringle also scored for Westman, while Megan Robertson picked up two assists.

Meanwhile, the Yellowhead Chiefs split their two league games on the weekend. Tirra Lemoine scored a hat trick and Courtney Marcinyshyn had a four-point night in the Chiefs’ 6-0 win over the Wild (0-5-0) on Sunday at Shoal Lake.

Yellowhead (3-2-0) fell 1-0 to the Pembina Valley Hawks (3-0-1) Saturday in Shoal Lake. Sky Brown made 54 saves in the loss.
