Crystal City’s Jayden Buchanan is the Tri-Star rural high school athlete of the week.

The 6-foot-0 Grade 12 defenceman with the Cartwright/Nellie McClung/Pilot Mound high school hockey team scored three goals and set up another to lead the Tigers to the Hazen Holiday tournament championship in North Dakota. Buchanan also had three goals and posted a +3 plus/minus rating to help the Tigers earn a pair of wins in Zone 4 League action prior to the holiday break.
