A slow start proved deadly for the Brandon University Bobcats men’s basketball team on Friday night.
The Bobcats only made eight of their 40 first-half field goal attempts, as the Bobcats fell 81-61 to the Fraser Valley Cascades at the Healthy Living Centre.
Michael (Reggie) Smith led Brandon (2-7) with 17 points, followed by Ali-Mounir Benabdelhak with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Kenonte Ramsey also cracked double digits with 10 points for the Bobcats. Kyle Grewal led the sixth-ranked Cascades (6-3) with 24 points.
Brandon will wrap up the first half of its Canada West conference season tonight (7 o’clock) against the Trinity Western Spartans (2-7).
