Calvert chosen for monthly honour

Carberry’s Grant Calvert is the Manitoba High School Athletic Association’s Subway rural coach of the month for January.

Calvert coached the Carberry Collegiate Cougars boys curling team — which featured his son Braden as well as Max Van Kommer, Braden Orchard and Nathan Malfait — to a provincial title last weekend in Gladstone and Plumas. The Calvert squad went undefeated through zones and provincials, posting an 11-0 record.
