Lisa Barclay: 5 kills off the bench

A fourth consecutive loss sent Canada to a sixth-place finish in the Pan American Cup women’s volleyball tournament in Mexico City.

The Canadians, who started the event with three straight victories, fell 3-1 (26-24, 23-25, 25-21, 25-16) to Cuba on Thursday. Brandonite Lisa  Barclay, who started most of the tournament, came off the bench on Thursday and picked up five kills and a service ace.

Brandon University Bobcats women’s volleyball coach Lee Carter, wrapped up his term as an assistant on the Canadian team’s staff with the end of the tournament.

Tabi Love of Dauphin is also a member of the Canadian squad, but did not play in the Pan American Cup due to an injury.
