Canadians still winless

The Canadian women’s volleyball team has its back against the wall at the FIVB Grand Prix after dropping a 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-19) decision to the host Belgians on Friday.

Brittaney Page had 14 kills for Canada as it dropped to 0-4 in the intercontinental round’s second division. Brandonite Lisa Barclay came off the bench in the first set but didn’t record any stats, while Dauphin’s Tabi Love didn’t dress.

The top four teams in the second division advance to the final four, and Canada has five more matches to try to climb the standings and secure one of those spots. Canada returns to the court today against 1-3 Argentina (9 a.m., Sportsnet One) and Sunday against the 4-0 Netherlands (7 a.m., Sportsnet One).
