The Virden Oil Capitals scored three unanswered third-period goals as they beat the visiting Neepawa Natives 5-3 in their Manitoba Junior Hockey League game on Thursday night.
Myles Nykoluk led Virden (4-2-2) with one goal and one assist. McCreary’s Rhett Law scored once for Neepawa (3-5-0), while Brandon’s Brayden Cuthbert and Gladstone’s Lyndon Soper each picked up an assist.
In Thursday’s other game, it was: Portage Terriers 4, Steinbach Pistons 2.

At Portage la Prairie, Kajon McKay’s second goal of the night was the winner. Brandonite Taylor Wells also scored for Portage (6-1-1). Steinbach fell to 3-6-0.
Suspensions given for fisticuffs
Killarney native Colton Magwood of the Swan Valley Stampeders and Matt Hughesman of the Selkirk Steelers have both been suspended three games for a staged fight on Oct. 6.
