Caps clobber Cougars

The Central Plains Capitals exploded for five third-period goals as they beat the Southwest Cougars 6-2 late Wednesday night in the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League at MacGregor.

Cody Durdle led the Capitals (12-7-2) with one goal and three assists and Tyler Ham chipped in with one goal and one assist. Sheldon Kowalchuk and Cameron Whyte replied for the Cougars (9-13-2), who got a 23-save performance from Tyson Verhelst.
