The defending champion Canadian Tire Cardinals are back in the Andrew Agencies Senior AA Baseball League final after a wild 10-9 win over the Diamond Dawgs on Tuesday at Brandon Field.
The Dawgs scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning for a 9-7 lead, but the Cardinals replied with three of their own, capped by George McNeill’s sacrifice fly that brought in Kirk Graham for the winning run.
Chris Kennedy went 4-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs as the Cardinals won the best-of-three semifinal series 2-1. Adam Hartman, Jeff Neufeld and Graham all went 3-for-4. Hartman tripled, stole a base, drove in three runs and scored two more, while Neufeld had a walk, a stolen base, two doubles and two runs scored.
Jody Anderson went 2-for-3 with two runs scored for the Diamond Dawgs, while Ian Barr was 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI.
