Jagger Thomas and Junior Brake helped the Boissevain Centennials clinch the South West Baseball League championship on Tuesday night in Hamiota.
Thomas tripled and singled twice to drive in a run and score another while Brake went the distance on the mound to lead Boissevain to a 4-1 victory over the Hamiota Huskies in the fifth and deciding game of the league final. Brake stopped Hamiota’s hitters, striking out five while scattering six hits over seven innings to earn the victory.
Zach Hicks singled three times and scored once for Boissevain, while Corey Billaney singled and doubled and scored another for the winners. Justin Knight doubled and drove in a run, while Ryan Brooks doubled and scored once for Hamiota.
Logan McGonigal took the loss, giving up 11 hits over seven innings with five strikeouts.
