Adam Kowalchuk had a try and three conversions to lead the Souris Sabres to a 60-0 victory over the Elton Sabres in a Westman High School Rugby League boys’ game on Tuesday at John Reilly Field.

Michael Fortin added two tries and a conversion for Souris, which improved to 4-0. Zach Miner, Brendan Roberts, Nathan Greig, Tyson McRae, Zach Harvey, Michael Gohl and Andy Lovatt also scored tries. Elton, in its first season in the league, fell to 0-4.

Also at Reilly Field, Tyson Bachewich scored two tries to lead the Minnedosa Chancellors boys’ team past the Crocus Plainsmen 27-7.

Justin McKinnon had a try and converted another for the Chancellors, who upped their record to 3-0.

Blake Marchischuk and Tyler Shmon had the other tries for Minnedosa.

Dryden Whiteagle scored the try for the Plainsmen, who fell to 2-2, with Juan Pena adding the conversion.

In a girls’ game, the Chancellors romped to a 92-0 victory over the Plainsmen. The Chancellors are 3-0, while the Plainsmen fell to 0-4. Statistics for the game were unavailable from the source.

Both Chancellor games were to be played at Minnedosa, but were held at Reilly Field due to Minnedosa’s wet field.

The next action in the league will be on Thursday at 5:30 p.m., when Elton takes on the Dauphin Clippers at Reilly Field.

On Friday, Souris visits Minnedosa for boys’ and girls’ games, while the Vincent Massey boys and girls head up to Swan River to face the Swan Valley Tigers.
